Engineering the Future

The Technical Department at Camperdown High provides students with hands-on vocational training and applied sciences. We bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world industrial application, preparing students for the modern engineering and trade sectors.

Specialized Study Areas

Technical Drawing

Mastering the language of engineering through precise drafting and CAD fundamentals.

Electrical Tech

Exploring circuit logic, electrical systems, and modern energy solutions.

Woodwork/Carpentry

Developing fine craftsmanship, structural integrity, and material science.

Industrial Arts

Applied learning in manufacturing processes and mechanical principles.

TVET & CSEC Certifications

Important information for students pursuing Technical Proficiencies:

  • The SBA Component: Technical subjects require a Practical SBA Project. Students must design and build a physical prototype or complete a series of technical drawings that meet CXC standards.
  • NCTVET Alignment: Many of our programs are aligned with HEART/NSTA Trust standards, allowing students to gain dual certification in specific trade areas.
  • Safety & PPE: Workshop safety is paramount. Students are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including shop coats and safety goggles, during all practical lab sessions.
